US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he would reduce the 50 -day deadline that Russian President Vladimir Putin ended to end the war in Ukraine.
“I am disappointed by President Putin, very disappointed in him. So we will have to look and reduce those 50 days I gave him a smaller number,” Trump said as he spoke alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer before their meeting in Turnberry, western Scotland.
In Russia, the Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX) index decreased by 0.93% after Trump’s comments to reduce the 50 -day period for Russia agreed to a ceasefire in Ukraine.
After Trump’s comments, Ukraine thanked him for the delivery of a clear message about peace.
Ukrainian presidential assistant Andriy Yermak said on social media, X: “Thanks to President Trump, he for him being firmly and providing a clear message through strength.”
“When America leads with force, others think twice,” he added.
“I think I already know what will happen,” Trump said, indicating another skepticism that Putin would come to the negotiating table and committed himself to a ceasefire.
At the beginning of this month, Trump released a 50 -day deadline and threatened to store Russia with harsh economic sanctions if hostility did not end with Ukraine.
The US President said he would store 100% of tariffs on countries buying Russian exports such as oil. Washington and other capital cities have joined with Kievsky’s view of oil purchases such as a form of silent support for Russia, helping to strengthen its economy and undermine sanctions.
Since the threat to the renewed sanction of Trump, Russia continued to start attacks on blisters and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.
NATO Allies are also moving to increasing pressure on Putin, with Germany in advanced interviews with the US and other allies to help supply other Patriot Air-Defense systems to Ukraine.
Zelenkiy’s government has made air defense the highest priority, because weeks of Russian attacks take a toll in Ukrainian cities.
