The Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Monday (July 28, 2025) ordered officials to ensure that people would not be annoyed in the name of the election revision, even though Bharatiya Janata was accused of not only religious minorities.
Mrs. Banerjee chaired the administrative meeting in the Birbhum district and announced that a specialized scheme would be launched to help allegedly persecuted Bengal migrants who returned from other countries in the middle of rising harassment cases.
“This regime must include provisions to help them safely return, issue allocation and employment cards, and provide temporary shelters to those who have no place to stay,” said the main minister.
Mrs. Banerjee said that the alleged “persecution” of Bengal migrants in different states is a “intentional” and “politically motivated” act.
“Not only religious minorities, poor and municipalities are focused on them (BJP). We must stand in addition to all the persecuted Bengal migrants,” she said.
She ordered the police and administrative officials to play an active role in the execution of the “Amar Para, Amar Samadhan” (our neighborhood, our solutions) aimed at addressing local civic and security issues.
The notes of the main minister come in the middle of the politically charged atmosphere in the state after reports of alleged harassment of Bengal migrants in the states such as Gujarat, Haryan, Rajasthan, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Maharaštra, which raised extensive concerns among their families.
