Star India Pacer Jasprit Bumrah looked tired while bowling in the 4th test match in Manchester. The Old Trafford game was Bumhrah’s third match of the series, the limit that promised to get into a bilateral accessory.
After an Indian heroic draw in the 4th test match, all eyes are on Speedster, and if he can push to play the last match of the series. Since India is forcing unlikely draws in Manchester, the team has a chance to balance the series in the oval. The incorporation of Bumhrah would certainly increase the Indian chance of play, but the team will risk that the sailor will run to the ground, given his recent history with back injuries.
The former cricket India Aakash Chopra shared his thoughts on Jasprit Bumhrah’s final test against England. While Bumrah is currently available for selection, Chopra believes that the decision about it should be based on his recent workload rather than just the number of matches he played.
Chopra spoke on his YouTube channel and pointed to the fact that Bumrah bowed only once in the 4th test match. Speedster bowed 33 overs in the only shift that India bowed against England. This was also the first time in his career, when Bumrah gave more than 100 runs in one shift.
“… we talked about the management of workload for jasprit. Of course it’s a very fast turn, but India has only bowed once. We didn’t go in the first and last days.
Before the series started, the team administration was that Bumrah would play only three out of five tests to manage his workload. Attention stems from the Sydney test of the recent Trophy Border-Gavascar, where he collapsed in the last day of the series.
The special back injury, which chased him in his cricket career, again forced him to miss the trophy of champions and the home series against England. To ensure longevity and avoid repeated disorders, the ace Pacer must be kept cleverly.
“Workload Administration is not about how many matches you play. It should be about the number of overs that mix you with. Should Bumhrah play with the line on the line?” Chopra commented on the prevailing interviews about Bumhrah’s workload.
BUMHRHHOHO’s working load in England
Jasprit Bumrah played three test matches in England and bowed to 120 overs. To keep things in context, Bumhrahov’s body collapsed in Border-Gavascar Trophy 2024-25, while in this series Bowling 152.
It should also be noted that Bumrah looked tired in the 4th test match against England and also copied the unfortunate ankle injury as Old Trafford stood up the stairs.
The last time Bumrah was injured was expelled for almost 4 months, which forced him to miss the Masters of Trophy 2025, a tournament that India won.
At present, India has no big tournaments. The team will play the Asia Cup 2025 in September and then play the home test season before focusing on the World Cup 2026 T20, which will be played in February – March next year.
