The regional passenger train derailed in southern Germany on Sunday and left at least three people dead and several other seriously injured, local authorities confirmed.
The knocking occurred around 18:10 local time (1710 GMT) in Baden-Wuerttemberg. The police confirmed injuries, but did not provide details of their seriousness.
The German newspaper Bild announced that the train, which was on the way from Sigmaringen to Ulm, derailed in a wooded area, with at least two of his trolleys. Some German media initially said that several people could have been killed, but the authorities did not officially confirm it.
Emergency crews, including firefighters and rescuers, threw themselves on a scene where the video shots showed that yellow and gray cars were overturned on their sides. The rescue teams worked on addressing passengers trapped inside.
The German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed his sadness over the tragic derailment through the X -Social Platform, the mourning lives lost and the extension of the sincere condolences to the families of victims.
Deutsche Bahn, a leading railway operator of the nation, confirmed his cooperation with the investigators and also shared his sympathy with those hit by the incident.
