
In the shocking incident, three smaller girls were poisoned to death by their own mother after being desperate over domestic problems in Thane District of Maharashtra.
The accused woman, identified as 27 -year -old Sandhya Sandeep, was arrested on Sunday by the police. She lived in a tapport in the village of Asnoli under the Shahapur region in the Thane district.
Sandhya, a housewife, allegedly mixed the pesticide in “Varan Bhat” (traditional rice and lens) and served her to her daughters, aged 5, 8 and 10 years, 20 July, according to the press agency said a higher police officer.
Small girls soon experienced health complications, including vomiting and dizziness, and were rushed to the local hospital.
As their condition deteriorated, two of them were later admitted to the hospital in Mumbai, where they died 24 July and 25 July. Another girl was moved to the hospital in Nash, where she succumbed to July 24th, the official said.
According to the police, the Khinavli police station initially registered the case of random death. However, the report on autopsy revealed on Saturday evening the presence of poison in the children’s bodies.
On the basis of fundamental evidence, the police registered the case of murder against the mother of children and arrested it on Sunday around 2 hours.
Sandhya was struggling with domestic problems, including her husband’s habit of alcohol consumption. She separated from her husband and tried to take care of her three daughters who apparently brought her to crime, according to the police.
The woman was suspected of participating in the death of three children.
Another investigation of this matter was underway.

Two smaller girls were reportedly raped by a gang after being kidnapped in a shooting range from their home in the Budhan area in the Muzafafarnagar district, PTI said.
Against these accused, identified as Pradeep and Gaurav, the case was registered according to parts of BNS and the POCSO Act (protection of children from sexual crimes), said Circle Officer (CO) Gajendra Pal Singh.
He added that both men are currently running and two police teams have been created to arrest them.
The incident came to light when minors at the age of 15 and 16 returned home and informed their family members about alleged rape.
According to a complaint filed by the victims, Pradeep and Gaurav, also from the same village, they arrived on the motorcycle and on Friday the girls at the shooting range. Both cousins were taken to another place where there was an alleged rape.
