In the tragic incident, the farmer Ramakrishn Raju (55) was trampled to the death of a herd of wild elephants in the village of Kothur in Somala Mandala on Sunday (July 27, 2025), which led to a panic near several villages.

According to the information received, the victim, which was on the night vigil, got under the flash attack of the herd, emerging from nearby thickets and straying into the field. A sudden fee left the farmer helpless. The villagers informed forest officials that they had seen more than 16 elephants in the herd, which were found camping at a nearby waterpoint in the morning and resorted to attacking crops after dusk in the last three days.

Representatives of the main Minister Pawan Kalyan agreed to the death of the farmers and expressed solidarity with family members. He announced that Ex Gratia would be given and ordered forest officials to increase remedial measures to prevent wild elephants from embarking on human dwellings. Meanwhile, the farmer’s body was moved to the Somal Hospital for the Posthy. A case was registered.
