Inde vs vs ENG Live score: Indian vs ENG Live score: England Hope on Stokes Bowling on the Last Day
England anxiously awaits whether the star of the versatile Ben Stokes will be suitable for the Fourth Fourth Test in Old Trafford after Klnul and Defiant Partnership SHUBMAN GILL left the host without their strike.
Stokes, the leading goal in the series, in the second Indian shift in India at 63 overs on the 4th day completed the day at 174/2, thanks to the uninterrupted 174-run stand between Rahul and Gill. The English camp later revealed that Stokes felt “tough and pain” and the final decision on its availability would be made after a night medical assessment.
India, which soon failed in its shifts, organized a remarkable recovery when Rahul and Gill detonated two complete sessions without losing the goal. The English attack, especially as soon as the ball softened, looked without teeth without Stokes’ ability to break partnership or put pressure from nothing.
Their only real opportunity came when Gill thought Brydon Cars’ shot, but Liam Dawson laid a chance at a backpoint – a drop that encapsulated England’s frustrating day.
After returning from Hamstring at the beginning of this year, Stokes underwent an intensive rehabilitation program that was prepared for this series of awnings against India. His commitment turned out – 129 overs have been bowed in the series, most of all he has ever delivered in a single test series.
Stokes retired due to cramps 3. The day, but returned to the field and later scored a brilliant 141 on the 4th day, his first test century in more than two years.
“He’s a little stiff and painful,” said English assistant Marcus Trescothick, talking to Espncricinfo.
“Over the past few weeks, he had a big workload. He had taken a toll for so long in the first shifts – he got crashed. We hope to go with night and more physical work to go tomorrow.”
Stokes was seen as his hamstring clutched during the field and increased concerns. Trescothick, however, downplayed the incident.
“It’s just accumulation. Where he came from where he was, it’s a massive workload. We’re trying to do it. Yesterday’s cramps have raised a little concern, but we’ll see how he pulls out in the morning,” he added.
Interestingly, England has already decided not to use Stokes with the ball 4. Day, which recognized the risk of overwork. His physical tension was obvious – after bowling 19.2 overs on the last day in Lord’s to secure victory, Stokes admitted that he had to spend four days in bed recovery. In Old Trafford, 24 bent away in Old in two days and claimed that 5/72 – but it seems to have taken a significant tax.
“If he was outside the field, he wouldn’t be eligible tomorrow,” Trescothick explained.
Stokes did not play a cricket of a white ball in almost two years and decided from hundreds. It is unlikely to return to a competitive action until the ashes start in November.
With a test – and perhaps series – hanging in balance, England will hope that their inspiring captain has one last charm left.
