The main election officer (CEO) from West Bengal has convened training at the division level and on Saturday (July 26, 2025), Kolkata can take place with election officials in Kalkata, similar to Bihar.
Training organized for the assistants of election registration officials (EROS), supervisors and officers at the level of stalls (BLOS) from various constituencies, comes before the elections at the West Bengal Assembly scheduled for 2026.
However, the resolution of journalists about whether Sir would be made for the election roles of West Bengal, however, the chief election officer Manoj Kumar Agarwal said that such a decision lies in the Indian Election Commission (ECI).
“If the panel occurs, the ECI will be announced. Whether it will happen when it happens when it is announced – they are not in my jurisdiction,” Mr. Agarwal said.
In particular, the West Bengal CEO’s website is currently displaying election roles in some districts of the West Bengal from 2002 since the last Sir in the State, which is a detail gaining relevance in connection with Bihar, where the role of 2003 was determined as a reference point for submitting identification documents in the ongoing Sir.
Mr. Agarwal, who further clarified, added that it is expected that each BLO will lead one Sir in his service, but the training carried out on Saturday should not be interpreted as a hint of the upcoming Sir in the state.
“Each BLO has to make one Sir in their lives. Sir have been done many times in the past. It was carried out between 1952 and 2004. The training was held today,” if Sir is in the state, the CEO said, “said the CEO.
He also noted that BLOS was instructed in Bihar to go from the door to the door to distribute, help, collect, digitize and send enumeration via the BLO application.
“However, I do not know if the same will be for West Bengal,” said Agarwal.
