Women’s World Cup T20 2026 Venue: Edgbaston, Birmingham
Widely regarded as one of cricket’s premier venues, Edgbaston has served as the home ground of Warwickshire County Cricket Club since 1885.
Based in Birmingham, the stadium has been a fixture of first-class and international cricket for over a century, welcoming many of the sport’s greatest players and witnessing many memorable moments.
His Test cricket journey began in 1902 when he hosted the Ashes clash between England and Australia, just a few years after being granted first-class status.
The venue also played a pioneering role in the development of the game. In 1973, Edgbaston hosted the final of the inaugural Women’s World Cup, where England beat Australia by 92 runs to win the title.
The innovation continued in 1997 when the ground hosted the first day and night floodlit competitive cricket match in the UK. Warwickshire beat Somerset by 35 runs in front of a crowd of 16,000.
Two decades later, Edgbaston once again made history by hosting the UK’s first ever day-night Test. England, led by Joe Root, dominated the West Indies to secure an innings and 209-run victory.
