India National Highways Authority (NHAI) is introduced to the National Highways Authority (NHAI) on various input and output points along the access highway controlled Bengalur-Mesu.
Officials claim that this plan will allow motorists to pay only for the distance they travel, instead of carrying the cost of tolls. For example, at present, cars, deliveries and jeeps using Bengaluru on Nidaghatta Stretch on the highway are charged for a one -way journey of 180 180 GBP and 270 for a return journey within 24 hours. Meanwhile, for traveling between Nidaghatta and Mouse, toll collection in the village of Gananguru, requires these vehicles to pay 175 GBP for one path and 260 GBP for a return journey in the same 24 -hour window regardless of the covered distance. This has caused complaints, especially from short -term commuting, who use the highway for local travel.
According to Nhai officials, the new toll system will be introduced at 14 locations on the highway 119 km in the next two years. The project includes the construction of railway jumps, underpasses and overpasses, wherever it is necessary, with the total budget of CRORE 712 GBP. The private construction company has been granted an offer and is expected to complete the project within two years.
“The proposed toll stalls to be built will include loops and dedicated lanes to ensure smooth input and output. The appliance will be calculated on the basis of a real distance,” the clerk told the Hinda.
Input and output points
Input and output points are likely to be developed in phases across various BENGALUR – Massur motorway segments. Nhai officials said that two input/exit points would be built between the Bengaluru and The Bidadi Bypass, followed by two other two between Bidadi and Ramanagara.
The section between Ramanagara and Nidaghatta via the Channapatna bypass will have three input/output points. Two such points are planned between Maddur and Mandy. The Mandya section on Srirangapatna will see four input/output points, while one will be built between Srirangapatna and Mysuru.
Nhai official said that this method of decentralized toll could also reduce the overload, which is currently observed on service roads near toll squares. “Thousands of vehicles are bypassing the Toll Gate Kaniminike every day to avoid paying full tolls. The new system should alleviate traffic load on these roads,” the official explained.
Welcome relief
For commuters as Paramesh K. of Ramanagar comes the initiative as a welcome relief. “I travel every weekend from Bengalur to Ramanagar and finally flood 175 ₹.
Another frequent traveler Malesh Kumar of Mandya expressed mixed feelings. “It’s a good step to save money, especially for a short distance traveler. But having too many tolls could slow the way because we’ll have to stop more often.
