At a time when the government is trying to remove the judge of the High Court in Allahabad, Judge Yashwant Varma after his official stay in Delhi was found in his official stay in Dilli this March, he did not specify the government’s position on court proceedings.
In response to Lok Sabha, whether reforms were required in the Supreme Court’s procedure, the Minister of the Union law Arjun Ram Meghwal described only the existing rules and regulations for the removal of the Supreme Court judges and the Supreme Courts and did not speak of reform.
“Article 124 (4) Provides that and Judge of the Supreme Court Shall Not Be Removed From His Office Except by the Order of the President Passsed after an Address by Each House of Parliament Supported by A Majority of the Total Membership of that House and the Majority of Not Less Than Two-Third The Members of That House Present and Voting Has Been presented to the President in the Same Session for Suchoval On the Ground Of
“For the Supreme Court judges Article 217 (1) (b) stipulates that” the judge may remove the chairman from his office in the manner stipulated in point 4 of Article 124 for the removal of the Supreme Court judge, “the Minister said in a written response in the house.
The Minister described the procedure adopted by the parliament for the removal of the judge, but skipped the answer to the question regarding the steps that apply to the reforms and if it has been with experts.
Opposition parties and groups of civil rights in the past have increased demand for court liability.
In addition to the case of justice of Varma, the opposition raised issues concerning judicial integrity when the judge of the High Court in Allahabad in December last December carried out veiled attacks on the Muslim community while talking about the Unified Civil Code on the events of Vishw Hindu Parisad. The judge stated that the country would run according to the wishes of the “majority”. The opposition, across party lines, protested against speech and demanded its removal.
At the ongoing monsoon meeting of Parliament, John Brittas said that the integrity and transparency of the judiciary should be maintained. “We are to eliminate justice of Varma. We have already expressed our desire to be part of this process,” he said.
