Fifty -year -old Tangedco leader in Virinchipuram near Katado in Vellore was arrested by Sleuths of the Directorate for Vagueness and Anticorption (twenty) for his claim and accepting a bribe of 3,000 R for providing a new connection of electricity.
Twenty sources said the complainant V. Echhappan (67), the driver and his family lived in Vellore. He recently built a house in Virinchipuram. He decided to get a new domestic power connection with his house.
In accordance with this, he paid a deposit and other fees for 27,000 RS TANGEDCO through online payment. Subsequently, Echhappan visited the Tangedco office in the village with admission and asked for S. Kirubakaran (50), a leader in the Tangedco office to install the poles of Tangedco to provide a new electrical connection to his house.
Echhappan told twenty officials that Kirubhakaran reportedly demanded an amount of 3,000 RS for this purpose. Echhappan did not want to pay a bribe and filed a complaint for twenty.
The seven -member team led by K. Sankare, a representative of SP, twenty (Vellore) and Inspector S. Mythili laid a trap and caught the leader Tangedco Kirubakaran. A case was registered against him. Later he was arrested and stored in the central prison in Vellore.
