According to a report on the damned court commission, which was accessible to Espncricinfo, was considered to be fundamentally dangerous for organizing extensive events. The findings, which recently approved the Karnataka cabinet, reported serious doubts about the ability of the stadium to host key accessories, including matches at the ODI World Cup and the IPL 2026 season.
The John Michael d’Unha, which was established to investigate the stadium’s victory of Bengalur (RCB) (RCB) (RCB), it was established that the “design and structure” of the stadium is by its very nature “inappropriate and dangerous” for events that attract great crowds. Stampede led to death 11 people and left more than 50 injured.
In its report, the Commission issued a strong warning that continuing to organize big events at the M Chinnaswama stadium could seriously endanger public security. He said that the stadium is not suitable for managing large crowds and that such events come with “unacceptable risks” related to the crowd control, reaction to emergencies and movement in the city.
The report urged that there were events with high participation, which are better designed for the security of the crowd. He recommended that any future stadium used for such events meet international safety standards.
According to ESPNCRICINFO, the Commission has identified several major deficiencies in the stadium infrastructure. Built in 1974, Chinnaswamy lacks proper queues and waiting rooms separate from busy public roads. He does not have enough entrance and exit gates to safely manage a large number of fans who participate in matches. The report also stated that the stadium is poorly linked to public transport, making it difficult to access during major events. Importantly, there are no detailed plans of emergency evacuation that correspond to global security instructions. There is also a limited space for parking or picking up and postponing zones that add to chaos during the main matches.
The Karnataka Government approved findingspave the way for potential legal and disciplinary measures against several key stakeholders. Those named in the report include RCB, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), DNA Entertainment Society for Management, and Higher Officers from Bengalur Police.
The consequences of the report are significant. The Chinnaswamy Stadium is currently scheduled to organize Marquee matches in the upcoming women’s world championship, including the opening of the tournament and semifinals, in September-List 2025.
The Commission found that all parties involved continued with the event of 4 June, although they were fully aware of the problems in the management of the crowd’s security, especially with the government office, which took place at the same time in Vishan Juděh, less than a kilometer away.
Investigators also uncovered the glaring outages of police work. Only 79 employees were deployed at the stadium, and none was placed outside despite the expected participation. There were no ambulances at the venue, and higher officials responded slowly – the joint police commissioner reportedly arrived 30 minutes after Stampede started.
The approval of the cabinet now allows legal and departments against RCB, KSCA and DNA Entertainment, as well as the head of police officials who have already been investigated. Five officers, including the then police commissioner Bengalur and two other IPS officers, were previously suspended and several FIRs were filed with reference to negligence and murdered murder.
