
New Delhi: Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman called on higher income tax officials on Thursday to ensure that the appeal and complaints of taxpayers and the pending disputes will be resolved in time.
Sithaman spoke at the event in the capital and identified the day of income tax and told higher officials to continue focusing on the area identified during the inspection meeting held in June.
These include the acceleration of the liquidation of disputed tax requirements awaiting the authorities without face and timely resolving the pending court dispute. The Minister urged the ministry to identify and withdraw the dismissal of the department under the revised monetary Prague announced in the Union budget 2024-25 within three months.
In last year’s budget, Sitharaman announced an increase in cash limits for filing appeals concerning direct taxes, excise duty and taxes on tax tribunes, Supreme Courts and the Supreme Court at the Supreme Court £60 Lakh, £2 crore and £5 CRORE, respectively.
“Ensure the timely processing of tax refunds and proactive and timely resolution of taxpayers’ complaints. Analyze complaints and invent strategies not only to resolve the existing trailer, but also for solving the problems that cause first,” the Minister told officials.
Call to check performance
Sitharaman also urged the department to perform the performance reviews in the region to help identify the factors preventing performance and streamline operations through indicators such as the liquidation of the complaint, completing the repair and processing of condonation cases.
“CBDT must focus on strengthening the total technological capabilities of the Ministry to ensure more efficient management of systems and problems related to IT. This is important to ensure trouble -free taxpayers’ experience, improving services and minimizing technical disturbances.
Sitharaman also said CBDT to ensure reasonable support to employees and officers in terms of better workspaces and accommodation in the area of residential areas. “I would emphasize that CBDT and the Ministry of Income prefer the rapid development of family accommodation and improved workspaces.”
Sitharaman also explained that 60,000 men, 2025, were needed to design a new income tax.
