Citizens Financial Group is set to expand GCC in Hyderabad

US financial institution Citizens Financial Group said on Monday (18 May 2026) that its Global Capabilities Center (GCC), located at Cognizant’s new campus in Hyderabad, has reached 1,000 employees and is entering the next phase of expansion focused on advanced artificial intelligence, data and digital engineering.

Hiring across AI, Cloud, Data and Digital Engineering roles

Launched in 2025, GCC has grown into a high-powered innovation hub helping Citizens Financial Group advance its key priorities in cloud modernization, AI platforms, cyber security and digital product engineering. Citizens Financial Group said it will continue to recruit for GCC across AI, cloud, data and digital engineering roles over the next two years.

“The GCC is a key part of our global engineering engine, with teams in India collaborating with our US teams…to reach our 1,000th hire in Hyderabad in just one year reflects both the strength of our strategy and the exceptional talent we’ve built here,” said Michael Ruttledge, CIO and head of Enterprise Technology and Security at Citizens Financial Group.

Citizens Financial Group said it is supporting the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Residential Degree College for Women in Telangana through investments in digital infrastructure, AI training and career readiness. Aimed at strengthening Hyderabad’s future talent pool, the program will equip more than 700 female students from underserved communities with the skills and resources needed for careers in technology.

GCC is expected to grow to 1,000 IT and data and analytics professionals by March 2026.
