Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) to consider the public representation for the construction of the metro station in Bethasura Cross on the airport line Metro Phase-2B, as originally planned.
The divisional bench composed of the main judge of Vibhu Bakhr and Joshi Joshi Joshi set out the direction of liquidation of the Pil petition, which was given by BG NanjundAppa and four others from the Bethasur area.
Not the domain of the court
However, the bench explained that it could not issue any specific direction in the construction of the station, because the problem does not fall under the domain of the court.
The petitioners complained that BMRCL was planning a metro station in Bethasur Cross in 2019, gaining land for this purpose and paying compensation to landowners. BMRCL, however, dropped the plan of the construction station for Bethasur Cross.
After the RTI investigation, the petitioner learned that the Plan of Bethasur Cross was eliminated as a private company, the embassy, withdrew from sponsoring the station, as agreed earlier.
In the public interest
However, the petitioners said that the withdrawal of a private company from sponsoring the station should not lead to the construction of the station, as BMRCL would correspond to the construction of the station in the public interest.
The petitioners also pointed out that the station in Bethalasur Cross is necessary because it is located between Bagalur stations and delivered, located about 4 km from Bethasur Cross on both sides, because the BMRCL design is to have a station for every 4 km.
