
Two days after Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as the vice -president of India, Dhankhas had already started packing his belongings to soon move out of the enclave of Vice President in NovĂ˝ Delhi. People who are familiar with the development said Jagdeep Dhankhar was planning to move his family soon.
As a former vice president, he is entitled to government bungalows. Dhankhars started packing their things on Tuesday, the sources were quoted as a PTI.
Jagdeep Dhankhar, 74, moved to the newly designed vice presidential enclave on Church Road near the parliament complex last April.
The Vice President’s enclave, which includes an official stay and office, was built as part of the Central Vista Redevelopment project.
He stayed in Enclave VP for nearly 15 months before resigning from a post that quoted health reasons.
“He (Jagdeep Dhankhar) will be offered bungalow type VIII in Lutyensov Dilli or in another area,” said the Ministry of the Ministry for the development of the city.
The VIII bungalow is usually assigned to ministers of trade unions or the presidents of national parties.
Dhankhar resigned from his post on Monday and quoted health problems. On Tuesday, however, Congress claimed that the reasons for his resignation as a vice president went “much deeper” than the health problems.
Vice -presidential elections will soon be held as the Indian Election Commission (ECI) that it began to prepare for the elections. ECI also said it began to create an election university for vice -presidential elections.
The election university will include members of both houses of Parliament – Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. All elected and nominated MPs are eligible to vote.
