As part of the district intervention against the illegal sale of spirits and smuggling, 12 people in the Mayiladuthurai district were arrested on Wednesday.
Operations performed on the instructions of the Police Superintendent G. Stalin had both wings to recover the ban and from various police stations Taluk. Four special teams were created under the supervision of Mayiladuthurai and Srkazhi Sub-Divisional Superintendents of Police, while both cities were registered.
The raids were carried out at key checkpoints and newly established temporary inspections in Mayiladuthurai, Sembanarkoil, Pernur, Palayur, Kuthalam, Manalmedu, Sirkazhi Thiruvengad, Vaitheeswarankoil, Nanlalar and Loadai.
During the operation, it was found that 12 persons were selling liqueur illegally and have been arrested. Twelve cases of recovery have been registered.
