Coca-Cola confirmed that this fall in the US releases a new Cola made with Cane Sugar sugar and expands its Coca-Cola trademark with a range. This step was announced on Tuesday (July 22) in a report on earnings in the second quarter of the company.
“As part of its ongoing innovation agenda, this autumn in the United States, the company plans to start an offer with American sugar,” the company said. “This accessory is designed to complement the company’s strong basic portfolio and offer more options on opportunities and preferences.”
The specific release date has not been announced yet.
Trump: “They agreed to that”
This announcement follows a contribution to the social media.
“I talked to Coca-Cola about the use of the real Cane sugar in Coke in the United States and they agreed with it. I would like to thank all those who have authority in Coca-Cola. It will be a very good step.
CaCA-Cola CEO: “Make the President’s enthusiasm”
Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola James Quincey recognized Trump’s interest during Tuesday’s investor call.
“We appreciate the enthusiasm of the President for our brand Coca-Cola,” Quincey said. “We are definitely trying to use a whole set of tools available.”
He added that Coca-Cola has been using Cane sugar in some of its other American drinks, including its simply lemonade line and honorary tea, and has long been selling a popular “Mexican coke” made with Cane Sugar sugar since 2005.
Coke open more innovation
Asked if Coca-Cola would consider the prebiotic version of its flagship Cola-similar new offer of Pepsico-Quincey that the company was already testing such innovations abroad.
“We are currently selling coke with an added fiber in Japan and studying consumers’ response,” he said.
Quincey emphasized that the company is responding to the consumer shift: “We are constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and find out whether there is a penetration of new ideas and where consumers are developing.” “It’s a good sign that the industry, including us, is trying a lot of different things.”
A strong global demand
Coca-Cola reported stronger consumers’ demand on key markets during the second quarter.
“Overall, I would say that the global economy and the global consumer remain resistant,” Quincey AS noted the aim to improve sales in China, Europe, Africa and North America.
