
The representation of Muslims in the jobs of the central government and the State Government in Kerala is abysmally low compared to the population, says Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parisad. Recently, a report on socio-economic and political changes in the state from 2004 to 2019 called “Kerala Studies 2.0” was published.
Part of jobs and living in the study points out that although Muslims represent 27.3% of the population in 2019, their representation in the state government of the state government was only 13.8%. The percentage of representation deficiency is 98.2. In 2004 they accounted for 26.9% of the population and only 11.4% of government employees belonged to the community. The percentage of the representation of the representation was 136.
Although 30.2% of the sample size in the 2019 survey belonged to the Muslim community, their representation at the employment of the central government was found only 1.8%. As for the population, their lack of representation in central jobs, including the lack of the armed forces, was stunning 1,578%. The survey says that in job jobs there is a lack of representation of Muslims 91%.
In the case of planned Castes communities, their representation in the population was 9% and 9.1% in 2004 and 2019. However, their representation in government jobs in these years was 7.6% and 8.5%. Planned tribes represented 1.2% of the population in 2004 and 1% in 2019, but their representation in government jobs remained 0.8%.
However, Horní Kasty is excessively represented by 83% in job jobs and 128% in central jobs. The report points out that 26% of the sample size population that receive no benefits, the corner of 39.9% of government jobs (the central government 45.5% and the state government 38.2%). Along with this, they also receive 10% of quotas within the economically weaker category of sections, leading to “increased imbalance”.
According to the survey, in 2004 Hinda from the upper caste was 24.1% of the population. Their representation at the State Government was 13.8%. In 2019, their population dropped to 15.2% and the representation in government jobs was 26.7%.
In 2004 and 2019, the Hindu reverse classes accounted for 28.5% and 31.2% of the population and their representation in government jobs in these years was 30.4% and 33.6%.
Christians accounted for 18.3% of the population in 2004 and their representation in government jobs was 20.6%. In 2019, the Christians accounted for 12.2%, and lower class Christians accounted for 4% of the population. Their representation in government jobs was 12.4% and 4.2%.
