Exclusual excise duty officials confiscated 3.5 kg of cannabis of high quality, known as “Gajapati Special”, which was brought from Odisha and saved in Kannankulangara, near Thrissur City, for sale. Ganja has been acquired in the joint operation of the Thrissur Excise Intelligence and Excise Range teams, after local reports on the suspicious night activities of youth in this area.
Ganja was found in the ownership of 33 -year -old Mani Naik, a native of Odisha. After days of supervision he was arrested. A successful operation was performed with the help of local residents.
Assistant Commissioner for Excuted Tax in Jobi said that a special team would be deployed to monitor migrating workers. Further investigation is underway and focuses on monitoring those who bought Ganja from the accused and used mobile data as a key line.
