The Secretary General of Aiadmk Edapppadi K. Palaniswami claimed on Monday that the DMK government has not shown any interest in moving the project of connecting the Godavari-Cauvera River.
The former main minister said his government had intensively monitored the project and even ensured that the governments of Telangana and Andr Pradesh supported this proposal. Both states said the project could be implemented as a drinking water project instead of the project of connecting the river, Palaniswam said. He addressed farmers in Tiruvarur as part of his nationwide campaign Makkalai Kappom, Thamizhgathai Meetpom campaign 21 July.
Mr. Palaniswami also questioned the current state of the Rasimanal dam. It would be possible to save about 62 TMCft water, if a dam was built in Rasimanal in Tamil Nadu, he said.
The state government could easily persuade its alliance partnership, which is now with Karnataka to drop the Mokedat project and prefer the Rasimanal Dam project, he said.
He was wondering what prevented the government from starting steps to achieve this goal that would prefer the Delta region, and claimed that DMK refused to act in favor of Tamil over a problem while sharing power with BJP and congress in the center for more than 15 years.
Later on the day the Secretary General Aiadmk addressed a road meeting in Mannargudi, where during the AIADMK regime he introduced various schemes introduced in the region.
From Mannargudi he went to Thirubhuvanam in the segment of the thirvidaidaimaruthur assembly in the Thanjavur district, where he claimed voices in favor of AIADMK enlightenment people to increase the cost of living in Tamil Nadu. “As soon as DMK came to power, almost all sectors have seen a steep increase in the price of people’s lives, especially rural people. Furthermore, education has become more expensive for poor people,” he added.
From there, the Secretary General Aiadmk went to Kumbakoham, where he addressed voters who asked for support for the party in the upcoming elections by calling the current government of the DMK as the government of the “unsuccessful model”.
