
Bryan Mbeumo described his 71 million move to Manchester United as a “dream come true” after signed a five -year contract with the possibility of another year. Cameroon international joined Brentford and ended one of the longest transmission sags in the summer.
The 25 -year -old striker becomes the third signature of Ruben Amorim Ruben Amorim after the arrival of Matheus Cunhy and the left back Diego Leon. United agreed to pay an initial 65 million for MBEUMO, another 6 million performance -related supplements.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign my dream club – a team I grew up,” Mbeumo said. “My mentality is always better than yesterday. I know I have a spirit and character to get a different level here, learn from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside first -class players.”
Mbeumo has been on radar United since the beginning of June, when the club started opening 55 million offers at Brentford Star. This offer, like the second attempt worth 62.5 million, was rejected. However, the negotiations finally brought a breakthrough last week when United submitted its third proposal that Brentford accepted.
Mbeumo had a Brentford season in 2024–25, scored 20 goals and provided seven Premier League assists – both personal bests. Since he joined the bees of Troyes in 2019, he made 242 performances, scored 70 goals and put on 51 assists.
The new United striker will arrive at the club that has completed the disappointment of 15 last season. In the Premier League and missed European qualifications. But under AMORIM, the club is trying to rebuild a full scale, and Mbeumo expects to play a central role in the plans of a new manager.
“Everyone told me about the environment that is created here and how exciting plans for the future are,” Mbeumo added. “This is a massive club with an incredible stadium and amazing fans – we are all really determined to question the biggest trophies.”
Jason Wilcox, director of Manchester United, described Mbeum’s signature as a statement on the project. “Bryan’s goals and assistance in the Premier League records are exceptional. Its remarkable consistency has introduced him to the most productive players in England in the last three seasons,” Wilcox said. “Bryan’s belief in our project and his determination to join the club has been confirmed that it is perfect for Manchester United and the culture we are developing.”
Mbeumo is set up for connection with its new teammates when United embarks on his pre -season tour in the United States.
