Harry Brook revealed that Brendon McCullum felt that England was “too nice” during the Lord’s test against India. The commentary stems from the incidents that began late on the 3rd day when Indian Captain Shubman Gill covered Zak Crawley over what he perceived as a tactic that dealt with Crawley and Ben Duckett, hanging with the match.
The tension also escalated 4th day when Mohammed Siraj celebrated aggressively after Duckett’s release. As a result Siraj received a fine of 15 percent of his fee and received one Demeritic point for violation of level 1 Code of ICC behavior.
“It came in perfect time”
It was the evening 4. The day McCullum reportedly told the team that they were “too nice”. Brook later remarked that given what happened on the 3rd day, English players could not afford to continue in this way.
“Actually, he said a few days before that we were too nice. I raised that night before the last day:” Baz said we were too nice the next day, I think there is a great opportunity tomorrow there is a great opportunity to get stuck in them, “Brook BBC Sport said.
“It came in a perfect time. The opportunity that was for us was not to be dear boys was because of what they did before. We watched two of our guys outside, return to Indians after they went to them.
“We had a conversation and said,” It is time not to be the nice boys we were before, “Brook added.
