Former Indian cricket Harbhajan Singh recently remembered the incident of Slapgate with Sreesanth and the impact he had on his daughter. Harbhajan infamicly slapped Sreesanth after the match of the 10 inauguration edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 between Kings Xi Punjab (now Pandjab Kings) and Mumbai Indians in Mohali.
The incident was spreading like a fire throughout the cricket fraternity and even led to Harbhajan’s ban IPL for the rest of the season. Recently, the former Spinner remembered the incident and said he wanted to completely remove him from his career.
“One thing I would like to change in my life is the incident with Sreesanth. I want to remove this incident from my career. This is an incident that I would change from my list. What turned out was bad and I shouldn’t do what I did. I apologized 200 times.
Moreover Harbhajan revealed an emotional moment with Sreesanth Daughter where she reminded her of the incident and said “you hit my father” who left Harbhajan broken.
“What hurt me after many years when I met his daughter and talked to her with a lot of love and said,” I don’t want to talk to you. You hit my father. “My heart was broken and I was on the brink of tears.
Over the years Sreesanth and Harbhajan moved around the controversy and share friendly relationships. The duo played together for India in the next few years and was also part of the World Cup 2011 team. After retirement, they also shared a field in several veteran cricket leagues.
