Vice -Chairman and President Rajya Sabha Jagdeep Dhankhar called on all parties to give priority to national interest in politics and call for bonhomy and constructive engagement over the monsoon meeting of parliament.
“I appeal to all in the political spectrum, please have mutual respect. Please do not trade on television in a non -tied language or otherwise against one party or the other,” he said, on Sunday freeing the inauguration program for the eighth dose of Rajya Sabha internship).
Mr. Dhankhar said that prosperous democracy cannot afford the atmosphere of constant acrimony. “Every Indian political party and every deputy is, in my opinion, a nationalist at the end of the day. He believes in a nation. He believes in the progress of the nation …” he said.
Against the background of opposition parties demanding a detailed discussion of Sindoor operation and US President Donald Trump repeated demands on mediation of peace between India and Pakistan during the recent conflict, the vice president said that policy should not be priority over national interest.
“We have no policy when it is a question of national security, national interest, and that may happen because India must be proud of the nations commission. In the world we are well considered to be the idea that Bharat can be controlled from the outside? Why should our agenda be our agenda.
