Goa Governor-Návrh P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Sunday stressed the need for dignified language and decency in political discourse and stressed that leaders should be an example for future generations. When he talked to the media, he expressed concern about the growing use of an offensive language in politics, especially in criticism of opponents.
“I was deeply injured by a harsh tone and words that are used in political debates these days,” Mr. Ashok said. “During my 42 -year political journey, I never intended to hurt anyone with my words.” Mr. Ashok, who formally took over as Governor Goa 26 July, has recently resigned from Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
On the occasion of his promotion as a governor, he was felicitated by various dignitaries and good friends. Vice-President JNTU-GV D. Rajya Lakshmi, President of the Chamber of Commerce Vizianagararam Kapuganti Prakash and Group CEO Gedela Srinubab were among those who expanded their greetings.
Sports authority Andhra Pradesh Chairman Ravi Naida and Vizianagararam Parliamentary President of Telugu Yuvatha Vemali Chaitanya Babu also called on Mr. Ashok and expressed his gratitude and acknowledged his role as a guide for TDP over the decades.
