
General Minister of Education V. Sivankutty called for an urgent intervention to deal with the lack of textbooks in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS).
Although four months have passed since the beginning of the academic year, many students have not yet received a textbook. This problem was particularly influenced by students of classes in and VIII in PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalayas, the Minister said in his statement.
They made the alleged negligence of the National Council for Educational Research and Training (Ncert), the Office responsible for the distribution of textbooks, for a crisis that persists even if it remains for the first exams.
“Classes in Kendriya Vidyalayas began 1 April, but study materials have so far only been available to online teachers. In addition, students cannot be expected to face tests without textbooks.
On the other hand, the state government ensured the availability of the textbook before the start of the academic year in state schools.
