The Bihar government said more than 12,000 new polling stations were created in the State according to the polling commission recommendations in the framework of a special intensive revision (Sir).
According to the release of the polling department on Saturday (July 19, 2025), the total number of polling stations increased to 90,712 out of 77 895, after the foundation of 12,817 new ones.
12,479 polling stations “in the same building or in the premises of the existing ones” were established, while the remaining are “around”.
The “District List” of newly created polling stations was shared with registered political parties.
Especially in the announcement of June 25, when Sir was ordered, EC asked the election officials to assess “the need for new polling stations, given that no electoral stations have more 1,200 voters, except for the previous committee approval”.
Meanwhile, six days left for the date of 25 July, ES claims that it was covered by “95.92%” of voters within Sir.
In addition, from 7.9 crore registered voters, the number of those “not found at their address”, including those who died, reached 41.64 Lakh.
