
Counseling on boiled water remains valid for more than 11,000 inhabitants in the Prince George’s County region after 16 inch water near the metro station has been torn on Friday, causing extensive water pressure drops and provoking health warnings.
The Washington Sun Sanitary Commission (WSSC Water) released advice on Friday evening and urged the inhabitants to cook water from the tap for at least one minute before drinking, cooking or brushing teeth. Counseling was influenced by residents in Hyattsville, Cheverly, Seat Pleasant, Capitol Heights and surrounding communities, ABC News reported.
Water service restored but may not be safe for consumption
While the Water Service has now been renewed for most residential consumers, WSSC officials warned, according to the NBC report that water may not be safe to consume until the results of laboratory tests confirm its quality. Results are expected until Sunday 20 July.
The report added that the officials said the break that occurred near 5540 Columbia Park Road in Hyattsville near Metro Cheverly, which remained without water on Saturday morning.

The ABC reported WSSC, said that the repair crews were currently unable to achieve a broken pipe due to access problems and were working on the construction of a temporary trip to the place.
In its statement, the agency further stated that there is no estimated timeline at present, when the repairs will be completed and added that it will provide an update after the pipeline is issued and evaluated.
The WSSC said in its counseling that residents affected by the pipe rupture should cook water and allow it to cool before they use it for drinking, brushing teeth, cleaning fruit and vegetables, preparing children’s recipes and food, or giving water for pets.
They added that the water used for showering, washing hands, laundry or washing dishes may not cook unless none consume.

WSSC sets the water distribution centers
The WSSC has set up a water distribution center in the center of Judith P Hoyer Early Childhood Center to 2300 Belleview Avenue, Cheverly. Residents can get bottled water from 9:00 to 17:00 with distribution overnight from midnight to 2:00, ABC report.
