Minister of Civil Aviation Union Ram Mohan Naida Kinjarap on Sunday launched new flight routes by Indigo Airlines from the Hindi Airport in Ghaziabad, and informed.
With this indigo, he becomes the second airline, after Air India to mark his presence at Hindon Airport. Air India Express started its operations four months ago from Hindi Airport.
The Hindon Airport in NCR will now be associated with nine Indian cities – Bengaluru, Kalcata, Varanasi, Goa, Patna, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Indore – through indigo services.
“This is a success, Hindon, Ghaziabad, Western Uttar Pradesh and the whole country. This is given by the ambition and aspiration of ordinary Indians,” the Minister of the Union quoted as he said from the Hindi airport.
Naida spoke to reporters and said that air fleet, airport, terminal capacity and leaflets have doubled in India in the last decade.
“During 2024-2034, civil aviation will grow in level II and III and we will have to unlock the potential. Hindon will serve as an example,” the minister said.
Now leaflets based in the capital region will serve these two airports after operations from the International Indira Gandhi (DEL) and Hindon Airport (HDO).
About the airport in Hindon:
At the beginning of 2019, development work at the Hindon Airport Airport started under the Udan on £50 Crore, in cooperation with Indian Air Force.
During his speech, he said that annual leaflets from the Hindon Airport in 2019 amounted to about 8,000, which have now increased to 80,000.
The Government of the Union in the budget of 2025-26 caused further pressure on the ever-growing domestic aviation sector.
The modified scheme will be launched to increase the regional connection to 120 new destinations and transmit 4 passengers of Crore in the next 10 years, Naida said.
The DIFE, which was launched in 2017, focuses on the improvement of unsuitable air routes in insufficiently operated regions. The Indian Air Indian industry has seen significant growth over the last decade and the number of operational airports in the country has doubled since then.
The government aims to make India by 2030 by a global air center.
