Mahalakshmi TG scheme praised by ASRTU

The All India Conference of the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) concluded in Mussoorie, with Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) garnering national attention for its initiatives in spare parts management, operation of electric buses and implementation of the Mahalakshmi scheme.

The conference was presided over by TGSRTC Managing Director Nagi Reddy and was attended by senior RTC officials, chairmen and representatives of the transport department from across the country to discuss the future of public transport.

The conference discussed the sharp increase in the prices of spare parts caused by the prevailing global war conditions. Mr. Nagireddy addressed the RTC contractors and state representatives and proposed measures to control the escalating costs and announced the formation of a special committee to regularly review spare parts prices and prevent further financial burden on RTC organizations nationwide. He also highlighted Telangana’s leadership in eco-friendly public transport and said that TGSRTC has become a national model in operation and maintenance of electric buses.

The conference also noted the contribution of the Mahalakshmi system and its recent achievement of record passenger journeys worth ₹10,000 crore and termed it as a breakthrough public transport sector.
