Minister Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Development (WRD) Nimmala Rama Naida repeated the government’s commitment to complete Polavaram abandoned main canal works by the end of this year. He said the government was taking concrete steps to speed up the completion of several key irrigation projects in the North Andhra region.
Rama Naida, who dealt with the media, claimed that the former main Minister Yagan Mohan Reddy neglected the development of Uttarandho.
“Instead of prioritizing key projects such as Sujala Sravanthi, which would ensure water supply to the region, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy focused on the construction of rich buildings in Rushikonda,” he said.
The Minister claimed that the previous YSRCP government in the state has created a “climate of fear”. He also found a mistake with Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy for “supporting provocative statements by his cadre”.
Rama Naida said that the NDA government is working on attracting large investments in Visakhapatnam, promoting the IT sector and supporting the film industry.
He assured that steps were taken to protect the steel plant Visakhapatnam (VSP) from privatization. “The government is still determined to complete the Polavara project by December 2027,” he said.
BheemuniPipnam Mla Ganta Srinivasa Rao criticized Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and leader Ysrp for “handing over the derogatory comments against the chief Minister N. Chandrababa Naida”.
