Krishna Milk Union organized a cycle rally in Vijayawada on Monday (May 18) to promote fuel conservation and create public awareness about fuel saving measures.

The rally started from One Town Vijaya Milk Factory and passed through KBN College, APSRTC Bus Stand, Krishna Lanka and Besant Road before ending at Lenin Centre. Vijaya Dairy employees participated in the event covering a distance of nearly 15 kilometers.

Chalasani Anjaneyulu, president of the union, said the initiative was taken in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel savings. He said cycling not only improves health but also helps reduce fuel consumption.

Highlighting the country’s fuel consumption concerns, Mr Anjaneyulu announced that Krishna Milk Union workers will cycle to work at least once a week. He further added that members of the sales team will carry out their duties in the city on bicycles once a week. Police officers and employees of other departments were encouraged to commute to work by bicycle or other non-fuel modes at least once a week.
