Normal life was partially influenced on Thursday after a 12 -hour national band called the opposition Congress and seven other political parties about the death of a university student who was lit last week after her repeated complaints about sexual harassment were allegedly ignored.
Congress members, the Indian Communist Party (Marxist), the Indian Communist Party, the Indian Communist Party (Marxist – Leninist), the whole India Bloc, the nationalist congress party, the Samajwadi party and Rashtriya Janata, took the streets that the students were forced to take an extreme step.
The second year of the integrated bed student at the University of Fakir Mohan (Autonomous), Balasore, suffered 95% of the burn injury and died on Monday evening after the fight for a lifetime for about 60 hours.
Educational institutes, commercial facilities, including banks and offices, remained closed during the day due to the Bandh call for dawn provided by political parties. The impact of Bandh was visible in large cities such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkel, Balasore and Bhadrak.
Long -distance trains and buses were stopped in several places, leading to long delay and inconvenience for commuting. In some places the protesters blocked the roads by burning the tires and parked their vehicles to stop the movement of the vehicle. Vehicles associated with basic services, including an ambulance, were allowed free passage.

Meanwhile, the Government University was arrested for alleged sexual use of a 20 -year -old student in Sambalpur, the police said.
On the basis of a complaint filed by a woman, Sambalpur’s police station registered a case and arrested the accused, the officer said.
Another investigation is underway, said the officer.
The accused was put into judicial custody for 14 days, another official said.
