
Ministers of Health Keral Veen George said on Thursday that 674 people are currently on the list of Nipah contacts throughout the state, PTI said.
Among them are 131 from Malappurama, 426 from Palakkad, 115 from Kozhikode and one of Ernakulam and Thrissur, the minister said.
Twelve individuals are maintained in isolation and treatment, while 88 samples have so far tested negative in Malappuram.
Up to 81 people from Malappurama, 2 from Palakkad and 1 from Ernacula were removed from the contact list based on their insulation period.
Seventeen people are currently in isolation in Palakkad. National, 32 people fall into the highest risk category and 111 is monitored in a high -risk category, mentioned.
George ordered one medical center for Nipah research to document all focus matters. Previously, the ICMR team visited Malappuram to assess the situation.
The update arrived when Kerala reported the second case of Nipah in the Palakkad district after the demise of a 58 -year -old man from Kumaramputhur near Mannarkkad. He positively tested the virus and died in a private hospital in Perinthalmann.
Meanwhile, a list of contacts was prepared in this case, George said, adding that the government was waiting for confirmation of the PUNE Virological Institute.
The Minister added that the patient died on July 12 and his samples were tested positively in the test at Manjeri Medical College.
Steps taken by the government
Keraly has issued a warning to the hospitals in Palakkada, Malappurama, Kozhikode, Kannura, Wayanad and the Thrissurian district of the state.
In addition, the government ordered the activities of the terrain level to intensify and continue in sight of fever. Further monitoring, including the location of the mobile tower, will be made. The Minister also ordered the team to be strengthened if another case was found.
According to the details shared by the Minister, 10 people are currently in Malappuram, two of whom are in intensive care. The state has now categorized 36 people as in the highest risk group and 128 under high -risk monitoring.
