
In a tragic incident, a 55 -year -old woman died after undergoing bariatric surgery at a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh, which caused outrage among family members, PTI reported.
Members of the family claimed that officials reported gross negligence on Wednesday. This escalated the tense situation in the hospital and caused the arrival of officials of the police and medical departments.

The victim was identified as Rajni Gupta, wife of entrepreneur Brajmohan Gupta and resident Sadar Bazaar. 11th July was admitted to Nutima Hospital on Garh Road for weight loss operation.
At the time of her operation, she weighed 123 kg and decided on the procedure performed by a bariatric surgeon Dr. Rishi Singhal, the family said.
Her son, Shaubham Gupta, said his sister Shivani, who also weighed around 120 kg, was admitted to the hospital for surgery with her mother.
The kinship claimed that the doctor promised a loss of 30 kg within 24 hours. While Shivani’s operation was successful, the paradise after the operation developed complications and died.
The day after Rajni surgery, he experienced severe abdominal pain that the doctors reportedly released. On July 13, however, the X -ray revealed a leak in the abdomen, allegedly caused during surgery, which led to infection, the family claimed that it further claimed that it died on Tuesday because it did not receive proper treatment.
Spouse’s complaint
The victim’s husband filed a complaint at a medical police station and accused the hospital’s doctors and hospital staff of negligence. However, no companies have been registered so far.

“The complaint has been handed over to the main doctor and other measures will depend on the investigation report,” said Shilesh Kumar PTI.
However, CMO Dr. Ashok Kumar Kataria said he had not yet received the complaint and as soon as he arrives, he will act accordingly. Dr. Singhal denied any negligence and said that Rajni and her daughter attended the 15th December 2024, where more than 150 of their treated patients appeared.
He added that they approached him on July 8 and demanded operations while their family business was suspended because of the Kanwar Yatra. The doctor noted: “Tajni had several already existing conditions – diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, oily liver, sleep apnea, high cholesterol and heart fears.”
He also stated that and the mother and daughter were informed that the procedure would be critical.

11th July underwent a successful surgery and on July 12, Shivani asked for her operation. Until July 13, both were stable until morning, but Rajni experienced restlessness that evening and was “immediately moved” to the ICU, the doctor said.
He also claimed that a team of doctors, including Vishwajeet Bembi, Vishal Saxen, Avneet Rana, Mitul Jain, Hariraj Tomar and Sandeep Garg, tried to treat, but despite their efforts he died of a heart attack.
