According to the report, the head of the MNS Division Vishwajit Dholam urged people to shop in shops that drive those who insult marathi identity. A formal police complaint was reportedly filed on the incident.
Similar incidents where MNS staff attacked people over their attitude to Marathi language have been reported in the last few days.
In one such case, the driver of the authorickshaw Raju Patwa of Uttar Pradesh was attacked by members of Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS 12 July near the Virar railway station.
