A video shared by a woman comparing life in India with a European country has caused mixed responses to social media. While the clip was intended as a counterpoint to what it called “constant negativity” about India online, many viewers felt that he painted the too romanticized image of the country.
In the now viral video Vaisali Dut, NRI, he said in India several aspects of everyday life that they believe are better than in Europe. Among them: Delivery of food in the door, trouble -free digital payments via UPI and accessible healthcare services.
She also claimed that India felt “safer” than some Western countries and quoted an incident in which her wallet was stolen in daylight when she was abroad.
“Before you come for me in the comments, listen to me,” she wrote in the headline. “That’s just a reaction to all the negative things I still see online about India. Yes, there are problems, but we don’t ignore the good. And no, I’m not returning back … but one day? Sure!”
Social media reacts
While some users appreciated its efforts to emphasize the positives of life in India, others accused it of overview of serious problems such as infrastructure, pollution and gender safety.
The user wrote: “The food supplied in 10 minutes is not flex, it is the availability of cheap work for exploitation. You have to earn much more in India to deserve the health care you have talked about, even if it is fast.
Another wrote: “Why is NRI sooooo eagerly celebrating India? If you like India Soooo too much, why aren’t you here? Return no .. Work here.
“India is behind in infrastructure, purity and public behavior. We are dealing with it and we are the first world,” wrote the third user.
Since then, the video has triggered a wider conversation about how NRI perceives India and the gentle boundary between patriotism and selective comparison.
