Polls for four Rajya Sabha seats in Karnataka announced

A notification was issued on Monday to start the process of biennial elections – scheduled for June 18 – to fill the four vacant seats in the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. The vacancies will be filled through a poll during which MLAs from Karnataka will exercise their franchises.
The biennial elections saw former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and BJP members Iranna Kadadi and Narayan Koragappa retire in June.

June 8 is the last day to submit nominations, which will be judged on June 9. The last day to download nominations is June 11.

No nominations were filed for the Rajya Sabha polls on the first day.
Voting will take place on June 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Counting of votes will start at 5 pm on the same day.
