Surprising control of the ACB (ACB) at the RTA checkpoint in Pondurthi of Bhiknoor Mandal in the Kameddy district led to confiscation of 52,000 GBP in cash and revealing suspicious extortion of the network including government officials and private agents.
The air raid was carried out on Wednesday morning, during which 16,000 GBP was found in the holder of the assistant of the motor vehicle inspector (AMVI) Sam Richardson. An additional 9,000 GBP has been obtained from a private agent identified as G. Shiva Kumar, while another 4,000 GBP was discovered in the ensemble. After another inspection, officials received from a checkpoint of 23,000 GBP, which is expected to be cash collected by illegal means.
ACB said the drivers passing through the checkpoint were found offering cash payments to ensure trouble -free passage, indicating the presence of established and systematic extortion.
The officials also noted that five unauthorized private individuals were involved to help RTA employees at the checkpoint, four of which were present at the time of the raid. It was found that officials intentionally neglected their duties, allowing the agents to stop vehicles and blackmail illegal payments from drivers and vehicle owners.
ACB said the government will be submitted a detailed report and recommends disciplinary and legal steps against the staff.
Citizens were recommended to report any requirements for a bribe of civil servants via the free ACB number.
