“Two Border Security Force (BSF) staff were injured in the attack of suspicious cattle smugglers along the Indian Bangladesh border in the East Jaintia Hills of Meghalay,” officials said on Wednesday (July 16, 2025). “The incident occurred near the Khasimar River in the early morning of July 12,” they said.
“BSF staff saw the movements of 30 to 40 cattle heads along with approximately 20 people on the Bangladesh side of the border,” says the company filed by the meghalaya police.
“When they were questioned, Miscreants, helping another group of 40 to 50 individuals from the whole border in Bangladesh, they tried to cross the Indian territory and started using stones at the BSF staff,” he said. “Two BSF Jawans suffered injuries in the attack,” he said.
“In self -defense, BSF units fired several warning shots and empty wheels to disperse the attackers,” said the strength of the boundaries. “After the incident, miscreants fled and BSF staff got 13 cattle heads,” he said. “There is another investigation,” he added.
