James Gunn’s Superman was released in India 11 July. But the film was released with cuts.
In India, the police scene between Superman (David Corenswet) and Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) were interrupted by the Central Council of Film Certification (CBFC). The 33 -second kiss was shortened to just a few seconds. Along with that, many Cus were damaged.
The cuts were criticized by Indian viewers who called CBFC approach outdated and too strict.
The thing has now attracted global attention. When American Media Outlet Entertainment Weekly reported many American viewers surprises that such a scene was considered “too sensual”.
Writer-Filmář Donovan Trott was thinking, “Didn’t they write a kama sutra?”
“There was no kissing in Kama Sutra because it was too sensual,” the sarcastic answer came.
Others wrote: “Film censorship in India is much stricter.”
Several other users also referred to Kama Sutra.
Antonio Gomez from Bangkok noted: “Because men in India cannot control women over women, give them envie to do some things.”
Egyptologist Ivan Montanaro wrote: “India should make more effort to clean the whole country…”
Pakistani influencer Alina Shahid commented: “Meanwhile, their” song items “will get Pass Free.”
CBFC: past controversy
Spectre, directed by Sam Mendes, had CBFC shortened two kissing the scene. The decision of the Indian Censorship Council to modify James Bond from 2015, playing Daniel Craig and Monica Bellucci, was widely ridiculed.
The Sto-for-Noha Journey (2014), directed by Lasse Hallstrom, was a French kiss between Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon. CBFC protested against a kiss and offered a UA certificate with a scene of intact or certificate U if deleted. The producers decided on the certificate u and modified the kiss.
Oppenheimer’s controversy
CBFC faced the will for approval of the scene in Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer, playing Cillian Murphy, is involved in sexual intimacy when reading verses from Bhagavad Gita.
The scene caused outrage and many called it “attack on Hinduism”. The film received an evaluation of U/A, suitable for children over 12 years.
