Defense chief (CDS) General Anil Chauhan stressed the critical need for India to achieve independence in unmanned air vehicles (UAV) and counteticous air systems (C-UAS), which pointed out that relying on foreign technologies undermines the readiness of the nation’s defense.
The Chauhan Gen, who spoke at a workshop held in the Manekshaw Center in Nový Dilli, emphasized how recent global conflicts have shown the ability of drones to “move tactical balance” despite their size or price. “Drones are proof of reality and their widespread usefulness in recent conflicts shows how drones can disproportionately shift tactical balance with their size or price,” he said.
The headquarters organized by the Integrated Defense Staff (HQ-ID) in cooperation with the Center for Common Studies of War has focused on “the indigenization of critical components that are currently imported from foreign OEM in the UAV & C-UAS.” It connects military leaders, defense experts, scientists, politicians and private industry parties to map a strategic plan that reduces India’s dependence on imported components for UAV and C-UAS technology.
Sindoor operation underlines the need for indigenous systems
The Chauhan gene quoted the Sindoor-Indian A-Pakistani-Pacist surgery-the strategic importance of the indigenous abilities of UAV and C-UAS emphasized. He said, “Sindoor surgery showed us why the indigenous UAS, C-UAS built for our terrain and our needs is essential.”
During Operation Pakistan, he deployed unarmed drones and Loiter ammunition on May 10. Nevertheless, none of them could actually cause any damage to Indian military or civil infrastructure, “the CD said. According to him, “most of them have been neutralized by a combination of kinetic and non -inetic means. Some of them could be obtained in almost intact conditions.”
Strategic imperative of Atmanirbharta to defense
General Chauhan claimed the urgency of self -confidence: “We cannot rely on imported specialized technologies that are essential for our offensive and defensive missions.”
He warned: “Dependence on foreign technologies weakens our readiness, limits our ability to expand production, results in lack of critical nutrition and continuous availability.”
CDS also explained that the asymmetric drone war transforms military strategies around the world: “Asymmetric drone war causes large platforms to be vulnerable and leads to a re-evaluation of the conceptual aspects of air doctrines, C-UA development and adaptive movements.”
Building the future of India in UAV and C-UAS technology
In a report on the Gene Chauhan workshop, he emphasized the urgent need of the native of the developed ecosystem:
“In the rapidly evolving landscape of non-contact war, UAV appeared as a transformation force. For a nation like India, self-confidence in UAV and C-UAS technologies is not only a strategic imperative, but also about the authorization of India that could fate to entertain her interests and opportunities.
The aim of the all -day workshop is to promote cooperation between defense forces, politicians, scientists and private sectors to reduce strategic dependence on foreign products of original equipment (OEM) and to ensure long -term military autonomy of India.
