The Indian male team modified the T20 World Cup last year, followed by the masters triumph. Meanwhile, a team of women is still in an effort to make their first World Cup title. They will have a unique opportunity to end waiting for the awning tournament to start on 30 September.
In preparation for the World Championship, India has six matches to fine-tune her preparation-the ODI series with three matches against England, followed by three other ODIs at home against Australia. Since its disappointment last year in the United Arab Emirates last year showed the team last year, demonstrated continuous improvement, ensured a series of ODI victory over Western India, New Zealand and Ireland, along with the victory of the Tri-RaTion series in Sri Lanka.
More recently, India won England 3-2 in the T20i series. However, with the 50-World Championship on the horizon, the team’s focus has now moved to solve key fears in a one-day format. When the ODI series ODI opening up against England will start on July 6, India will strive to find the right balance and composition of the team before the global challenge.
End of road for Shafali?

Since last year he was dropped in New Zealand ODI, Shafali Verma still has to get his place in a day setting. This is not due to running – Shafali was in fruitful form, he scored heavily in the domestic cricket and for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). But it is a meteoric rise in Rawal Pratiky, which held it outside the party.
In the T20i series against England Shafali broke 176 runs with an impressive strike of 158.55. But as far as ODIS is concerned, how do you create space for Shafali when the pratika was so dominant – on average 63.80 and become the fastest player who achieved 500 runs in women’s ODI?
Despite the competition head coach AMOL MZUMDAR believes that Shafali is still very rivalry for a place in the ODI World Cup group. Muzumdar acknowledged that the selection between Shafali and Pratika is a “happy headache” for the Indian team.
“So I think there is a lot of depth in this Indian lineup, a good headache that has a coaching staff. And Shafali was a great player. There is no doubt that he will be in the mix. He will be among the main group of India. There is no doubt,” Mzumdar said.
If Shafali stays in Indian plans, it is essential that she gets an opportunity in Odis against Australia – essential to assess where her game stands in a longer format.
Gold Chance for Charani

The Indian Group for England already contains Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana – Frontunners to lead an Indian attack on the World Cup. One spinner who recently made a convincing case for himself is the left -handed Shree Charani. After an impressive girl in WPL, Charani won her first ODI challenge for Sri Lanka Tri-Series, where she raised six goals in five matches.
This momentum has led to its debut T20i and an immediate impact. In the series against England, Charani appeared as a leading Indian goal and claimed 10 goals at an economic rate of 7.46, including interest with four goals, which was helpful in the success of the team.
The praising Charani, Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, said, “He’s a key player for us. In WPL, where she played two-three (two) matches (for Delhi Capitals), we were all (team management and selection).
It is now part of the ODI team, Chani will eagerly provide additional power and add to the headaches of the selector in terms of completing XI playing. When Sneh Rana took 15 goals in just five games in Sri Lanka and Deepti Sharma brought a lot of experience, Charani may not be an automatic selection – but it certainly pushes hard.
Fast bowling strong enough?

Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Singh are the Indian frontline fast pitch -offs, but both recently missed the international event due to injuries. Vastrakar did not appear for India last year for India from the World Cup T20, displaced by knee injuries, while Renuka has been out of activity since 2025 WPL.
In their absence, India turned through options like Saima Thakor, Sayali Satghare, Arundhati Reddy and others in finding stability.
Renuka with 35 goals in 19 ODIS was a key pillar of the Indian pace of attack. Without her presence, the unit seems to be significantly thin. Kranti Gaud, Satghare, Amanjot Kaur and others called for an England for the series, but the attack still lacks bites that Renuka and Vastrakar bring.
India must remember that on days when spinners are under pressure, they are Pacers who need to get off and bear responsibility.
India has reached two World Cup finals, but did not reach on both occasions. The recurring question was their tendency to retreat to the shell after early failures. Playing at home this time should provide significant support for trust, supported by passionate domestic support.
In fact, turning your dream into the World Championship will eventually depend on how well they can handle high -pressure games against top parties such as Australia, New Zealand and England.
