Before the upcoming elections to rural and city local authorities in the state, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) asked the State Election Commissioner to remove certain identical symbols that look like a symbol of the BRS election car from the list of free symbols to avoid confusion between voters.
In a letter addressed and submitted to the State Election Commissioner BRS B. Vinod Kumar and S. Bharath Kumar said on Tuesday that the symbols identical to the election symbol of the BRS election symbol of the car were abused to reduce them to BRS votes. They explained that the opponents of BRS used such identical symbols to confuse voters when selecting and recognizing the BRS symbol on the ballots.
Candidates who attacked on the same symbols as “Chapati rollers, camera, ship and several others have gained/secured voices more than some recognized national parties. The view of the symbols with the size displayed on voting papers/machine EVM clearly shows the similarities of the free symbol of the BRS symbol.
You could clearly understand how the candidates have cut themselves into the votes of BRS in the past, which influenced the prospects of BRS candidates. They also explained with the details how candidates who were assigned symbols were identical to the BRS symbols ensured a large number of votes that would otherwise be asked by BRS.
They also asked SEC to give the parties (BRS) the opportunity in person to submit a case to ensure free and fair elections to local authorities.
