Star Pacer Jofra Archer hit the “keyboard warriors” who doubted him about the cricket test during his long road, after he helped England a thrilling 22-run victory over India in the third Lord’s test.
Archer returned in more than four years and returned with the trademark test and accuracy, with five goals and regularly exceeding 90 mph. It was a remarkable return for a thirty -year -old who spent a better part of the last few years fighting with serious injuries and underwent extensive rehabilitation.
Archer spoke to Sky Sports after the match and admitted how much he meant the moment.
“I think I was a bit emotional. It was a long way. I can’t tell you the number of keyboard warriors that there in the last three or four years,” he said.
ENG vs Indian, 3. Test main points | Scorecard
Archer’s return was defined by patience and perseverance. Since the last playing cricket at the beginning of 2021, he has suffered several failures, including stress fractures in his elbows and lower back. While he gradually returned to the English white balls, his journey back into the game with the red ball was carefully reduced by the risk of further injury.
“It came for a long time – a lot of rehabilitation, a lot of training,” said Archer. “But these are moments that are all worth it. The whole crowd gave me a huge elevator.”
He was wasting the time that would have an impact. With the only third ball of his return, Archer removed the Indian Yashasvi Jaiswal – a moment that set the tone for energy and persistent charm. At the end of the match he bowed to 39 over – much more than he even expected.
“It was very hectic for the first test back.
Although he wants to return earlier, Archer acknowledged that England was the right approach.
“The hardest part was playing cricket in the last year and a half and you still have training rounds
England Captain Ben Stokes revealed that Archer has been promoting the return of the red ball since the beginning of the summer. Now, with the winning match under the belt, he not only proved that he was still doing well at the highest level – but that he was ready to move around doubts.
As the series continues, Archer’s return offers significant support – and serves as a strong reminder that every big comeback is built on faith, hard graft and unshakable determination.
