Women’s chairwoman Andhra Pradesh Rayapati Sailaja said on Monday that students of the academic year 2024-25 were also reportedly subjected to sexual harassment of Para-Medician staff of Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinad City.
On Monday, Mrs Sailaja accompanied by the municipal police in Kakinada communicated with 55 victims after the matter appeared through an anonymous e-mail sent to the director of RMC 8 July.
During her visit to Mrs. Sailaja, there was also a discussion with the RMC College authorities and asked about the incident who informed her that four accused were employees.
Talk to the media after interaction in the camera with students B.Sc. (MLT) group on academic land, Mrs. Sailaja said: “Students of previous B.Sc also faced sexual assaults of para-medical staff. The accused even threatened to release private photos of victims if they continue their complaints against them.”
She appreciated the current dose of students for their courage to light up the incident. She said, “What happened in the area is daunting. The victims are in a state in which they could not talk about their situation because of concern about how it could affect their academics.”
