Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) was chosen for Super Swachh League under Swachh Survekshan, 2024, announced the mayor of Rayan Bhagya Lakshmi and HM Dyanachandra Commissioner in a press release on Saturday (July 12).
The mayor, who expressed gratitude to the inhabitants, hygienic workers and employees, said the prize would be awarded by the President Droubadi Murmu VMC at a ceremony in Nový Delhi July 17th.
Mr. Dyanacandra said it was a matter of great pride that Vijayawada was selected for Super Swachh League in the first year of his introduction, under Swachh Survekshan 2024, along with Indore, Navi Mumbai and Surrat.
The Commissioner, who called this to a remarkable success and initiation of the price to hygiene workers and citizens, said that despite the flood Budmer in 2024, the city remained among the highest cities and secured the position in Swachh Survekshan.
The Commissioner noted that during the disaster the city managed problems with waste from floods and hygiene, thanks to the support of the main Minister N. Chandrababa Naida, Minister for the Municipal Administration and Development of Pongur Narayan, Chief Secretary Sutesh Kumar, community director (DMA) P. Sampath Kumar and over 200 officials.
