Sri Ganesh Mahotsavams (Ganesh Chaturthi) is celebrated from August 27 to September 4 for nine days in Kurnool and for five days in other places, including Adoni, Yemmiganur, Pattikonda and Gudur.
The Kurnool Ganesh Utsav Samithi district urged the Pandals organizers to traditionally have festivities and install only the clay idols of Lord Ganesh.
The leaders of Utsava Samithi from all over the district and Kurnool Town organized a meeting on Sunday to discuss the modality for the leadership of the festivities.
Reaching the media in the Samithi office in Vinayaka Ghat in Kurnool, the President of the Samithi Venugopal District District called the Pandals organizers to install only the clay idols of Lord Ganesh. “The Pandals organizers should refrain from installing Ganesh idols showing film actors and unusual forms. Idols should be in traditional forms,” said Mr. Venugopal.
Mr. Venugopal said that festivities should reflect Hindu unity, traditions and culture and should be organized in a peaceful way. He said that the celebrations should honor the memory of Hindy who lost their lives in a recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and commend the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in Sindoor Operation against Terrorist Workers and their shelters in Pakistan.
